ABSTRACT
[A review article of Maurice Dobb, Theories of Value and Distribution since Adam Smith (1973), F.H. Hahn, The Share of Wages in the National Income (1972a), John Hicks, Capital and Time (1973a), and H.G. Johnson, The Theory of Income Distribution (1973).] The editors of the Economic Record invited the authors of the four books under review to comment on Professor Harcourt’s paper. The responses of Dr Dobb, Professor Hahn and Professor Sir John Hicks immediately follow Harcourt’s paper; and finally there is a further comment by Harcourt on these responses. Professor Johnson declined to reply.
