ABSTRACT
Public interest values 1 are the broadest value cluster of the five considered in this text. The public interest includes what is good for society at large and balances the competing interests of different groups, including unborn generations. As a social construct, 2 public interest is the agreed-upon gestalt or totality of political, economic, and religious values of a particular society.
