ABSTRACT

Children, adolescents, adults, and families may benefit from the development of loss timelines. Additionally, it is crucial that all grief care providers review their own personal loss histories in search of unresolved grief or “unfinished business” that may enter the therapy room and shift attention away from grieving clients (Jeffreys, 2011). Loss timelines might be less appropriate in the immediate aftermath of a death when an agenda of support rather than exploration is called for.
