ABSTRACT
AS WAS pointed out in Chapter II, bargaining comes about whenever the difference in numbers between the two sides of the market is not too great. This condition was generally fulfilled in bygone days; and it still is fulfilled in economies less highly developed than our own. Today, however, at least in industrial societies, the importance of large-scale enterprise has eliminated bargaining from practically all markets except those where two equally large firms or organizations face each other.
