ABSTRACT

This book has examined natural resource and environmental policy issues at both the macroeconomic level (Chapters 2 and 8) and the sectoral level (the remaining chapters). Malaysia's efforts to address these issues during the 1970s and 1980s offer lessons that are useful for future policy making not only within the country but also in other developing countries. This chapter highlights those lessons, organized around the four questions raised at the end of Chapter 1.
