ABSTRACT
In this short chapter, we provide some background information—both ecological and human—about Gabon. The site discussed in this chapter is the most forest-rich 1 site of those reported in this book. We then report the results from a partial social science methods test related to the more systematic and comprehensive studies conducted in Cameroon, Indonesia, and Brazil and reported elsewhere in this book.
