ABSTRACT
In the Transactions of the Congregational Historical Society IV. 96-7, are genealogical tables of the Wilmer family, showing the relationship between Job Throckmorton and the Wilmers. Job Throckmorton’s sister Katherine married for her third husband John Wilmer, who was uncle to the Andrew Wilmer who married Cartwright’s daughter. Andrew (1567-1625) probably met Mary when visiting his uncle John at Shrewley in Hatton parish. In an article “ The Puritan Family of Wilmer : their Alliances and Connections ” (Trans. C.H.S ., IV. 129-47), Mr. J. J. Green puts the date of the marriage as “ about 1595 ”.
