ABSTRACT
Changes in population size, density, and age distribution may impact malaria directly, by affecting the susceptible people who live in malaria-endemic areas, and indirectly, by influencing other determinants of malaria, such as population movement and socioeconomic status. In this chapter, I describe demographic trends, the uncertainties associated with them, and the role of the population variable in climate change.
