ABSTRACT
This chapter describes the process of installing solar electric systems. Within the scope of this book, it is impossible to cover all aspects of electrical installation. This chapter has therefore been written mainly to guide readers through the installation of small solar PV systems with 12 or 24V DC circuits. Nevertheless, much of what is covered herein is also applicable to other types of PV systems. Readers wishing to design and install larger and more complex systems should undertake general electrical training as well as training in off-grid PV system design and installation (see Chapter 12).
