ABSTRACT

The causes for conflict are endless in our work. Multiple sources of misunderstanding, emotion, injustice and grievance are common in community relationships. These relationships are becoming increasingly more complex in cross-cultural environments, requiring imaginative methods to co-create unexpected opportunities for living and working together. In some countries, conflicts may be as old as European invasion, while others may arise out of fear of losing a particular community asset in a newly proposed development plan. Michelle LeBaron, Norma-Jean McLaren and Nathan Edelson are three well-respected practitioners with many years of experience. Dianna spoke with each about creativity in practice and seeking moments for community transformation. Invitation

Take an incremental step or two with three experienced practitioners. Michelle LeBaron talks about moving outside our norms into realms of beauty and transformation and Norma-Jean McLaren and Nathan Edelson share how they use creativity in relationship-building processes as story carriers, matchmakers and facilitators of local leadership.
