ABSTRACT

The projects reviewed in this sourcebook teach us that fostering the biocultural diversity approach and its agenda for the sustainability of all life requires addressing challenges and opportunities at multiple levels. Numerous gaps need to be filled and connections need to be made in terms of research, policy and practice. Some of these needs are discussed below. But, above all, achieving biocultural sustainability requires change at a deeper level: a deep mind shift in what we value and cherish the most. In the concluding section of this chapter, we reflect on what such a shift entails.
