ABSTRACT
Homer sums up the way many environmentalists feel about flying. The thought of travel fills us with longing and guilt at the same time. I have to come clean. Like many environmentalists, I love travel. I always have. When I get off the plane and feel the hot Indian or Mediterranean sun lick my face, I have that papal urge to bend down and kiss the ground.
