ABSTRACT

The automobile sector is very important for the Mexican economy. At the international level, Mexico is currently considered one of the twelve biggest automobile production centres in the world, but also one of the three countries with the greatest rates of growth in the automobile sector. At the national level the importance of this sector grows, not only because of its impacts on the structure of direct employment, foreign trade and added value statistics, but also because of the extended networking linkages established by this sector with others like the steel and metal, chemical, non-metallic products, selected textiles, electric and electronic sectors.
