ABSTRACT

Now that we understand how the voluntary carbon market functions today, we are in a position to consider how it will operate in the future. Since we are in full agreement with Mark Twain, who once quipped that, ‘prophecy is a good line of business, but it is full of risks,’ we have decided not to make all the predictions ourselves. In this chapter, then, we have asked a series of experts to take a close look at current market trends and to make predictions about what the future holds for the voluntary carbon market.
