ABSTRACT
The welcome appearance of a collection of Whorf’s scattered writings, 1 together with an illuminating memoir and introduction and a fuller bibliography than has hitherto been available, makes it possible to see the work of that remarkable man in something like its astonishing entirety. Few books of equal importance are as interesting: it would take a dull reader to be indifferent to Whorf’s views.
