ABSTRACT

The community voice card (CVC) is a tool that enables people to assess in a structured way the services they receive (whether from government, non-government or private agencies). The tool is applied through a range of discursive formats such as focus group discussions and interviews. It captures people’s views and this information can then be used to strengthen the services they receive. The scope of CVC (also termed community score card (CSC) and, community voice tool (CVT)) for assessing MDG-related performance from people’s perspectives holds great potential in the absence of appropriate tools for measuring people’s satisfaction with how the MDGs are progressing in developing countries.
