ABSTRACT
Individuals prefer to purchase computer systems that are easy to learn, easy to operate, and that solve their problems. Consequently, designers of computer software and hardware recognize the importance of catering to the human side of computer-human interfaces. Corporations are hiring an increasing number of cognitive engineers and human factors engineers to improve the quality of these interfaces. The cognitive engineers evaluate existing interfaces and recommend engineering changes for future designs.
