ABSTRACT
Most engineering industries use many more chemicals than they are aware of. There are many laws and directives concerning the handling of chemicals. In most countries, legislation states that the least environmentally harmful product must be used and that suffi cient knowledge of the product must exist in order to avoid detrimental effects to people and the environment.
