ABSTRACT

In the first three chapters of this book we addressed the need for

transformative change to challenge our unsustainable ‘master

metaphorical templates’. Sustainability cannot be achieved without

these changes. But it is no easy task. The central argument of this

book is that community engagement processes can help. They can

bring together diverse communities in inclusive ways to generate

solutions to intractable sustainability problems. However, the ways

in which these community engagement processes for sustainability

are carried out have absolute bearing on the outcome. The ‘devil’

or the ‘divine’ dwells in the details.
