ABSTRACT
Growth and development during infancy were evaluated with physical measurements, psychomotor scales, medical histories, and pediatric examinations at 4 and 12 months. Of 44 variables screened from the period following nursery discharge to age 1 year, 42 were related to severe or mild mental retardation and were retained for further analysis.
