ABSTRACT

The last section of Chapter 7 raised the question of a conflict that cannot be reconciled with today’s existing legal instruments and forms of governance. Because ‘living with chemistry’ and, in general, living in a world dominated by corporate goals is far more hazardous than most believe, far more so even that the possibility of being exposed to an occasional disaster, this is a question that, politically correct or not, needs careful reflection. The present status quo represents a daily proven, well-researched exposure to harm to normal human function and health. This exposure affects different persons in different ways, as it varies according to age, quantity and quality of exposure, individual predisposition and lifestyle.
