ABSTRACT
Refurbishment may provide the opportunity to incorporate renewable energy (RE) technology. Many applications of RE technology are relatively independent of building work, and could be retrofitted at any time – such as solar panels and wind turbines. These applications are adequately described in numerous resources. We concentrate here on instances where there may be savings to be made when the RE technology is applied as part of fabric or services improvements.
