ABSTRACT

The Chevrollier High School was built in 1959. This large school houses 500 teachers, and 2700 students from sixth grade to school leaving age, providing both academic and vocational education. The building had never been refurbished and a number of problems were evident:

Overheating in the south-facing classrooms.

Degraded poorly fitting windows resulting in high infiltration.

Uninsulated fabric and poor heating controls resulting in thermal discomfort.
