ABSTRACT

This large five-storey building (30,000m2) was originally built in the 1960s as an engineering factory. In 1980 it was remodelled to form the central office of the Ministry of Finance, handling the taxation for all of Greece. At this time issues of energy efficiency and indoor environmental quality were not a priority. Recently, increasing dissatisfaction with the environmental conditions, together with a growing awareness of the need for good energy performance, have prompted this current work.
