ABSTRACT
The role of this reference module is to educate the students in the basics of music bibliography within simple parameters: to select general but comprehensive sources that would answer common reference queries; to teach the students how to decide which tools they might use to answer specific types of questions; to steer clear of more sophisticated sources; and to avoid foreign language texts. Twelve sources were selected for the module. An example of the module on Mozart is included.
