ABSTRACT

Although the choice of type used to set words is critical, so is the choice of the words themselves. The whole point of design is to sell the journalism contained on the printed pages, and it has been assumed throughout this book that the copy to be used is well written and well edited. I have relied on other books to discuss how to get these vital tasks right. But there are other writing and editing tasks required as part of the design process and it is important to know how to do these in order to produce a lively and attractive page.
