ABSTRACT

The previous chapter has described the way in which selection for certificate courses provided a framework for the curriculum, setting limits to the level, number and sequence for courses that were taken. This chapter explores examples of some of the ways in which this framework helped to shape both the content of the curriculum that pupils actually experienced, and also the methods of teaching and learning that were used.
