ABSTRACT

It is exciting to interact with people who are playing at the top of their game, and it's depleting and frustrating to encounter those who are not. Some people just seem to go through the motions, merely “task-involved,” performing the minimum that is required and absolutely nothing more. In today's highly competitive climate, such behavior is insufficient. We need more. We need people who care—those who feel a sense of connection, passion, and ownership in their work. We need people who are “psychologically-involved”—a workforce who engage their work with a sense of commitment.
