Early Life Hillary Diane Rodham was born on October 26, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois. Her father Hugh was a textile merchant who married Dorothy Howell in 1942. Hugh's success in making draperies for hotels and corporate offices enabled the family to move to the upper-middle-class suburb of Park Ridge in 1950.
