ABSTRACT

To summarize the liberal position so far: Human nature is more malleable than static, which means that we are imbued with great potential for good. Both society and individuals are destined for improvement. We cannot be sure which values are absolutes, so we must encourage tolerance and equality among beliefs and traditions. This provides us with a vision of a better society: a more free and equal world. Inequality and intolerance infect many aspects of our culture, but they can be eliminated through wise policies that harness the collective goodwill of citizens. This eradication of oppression is known as Social Justice, or the steady destruction of the impersonal forces that limit personal advancement. In this way we can perfect our society through our collective efforts.
