ABSTRACT
The third example possibly is the one which could generate the widest range of applications of the four. The application was to modal choice but we saw that the differential equations were simi lar in form to those we used for shopping centre evolution in Chapters 5 and 6. Indeed, the form of the equations could apply whenever choices involving attractiveness functions are used. What the example shows us, therefore, is how relatively simple assumptions can generate interesting bifurcation behaviour.
