ABSTRACT
Computers make it possible to quickly and easily put together presentations that combine images, text, sound and video - what we know as 'multimedia authoring'. You will be familiar with the results from the ubiquitous use of PowerPoint for presentations: text will fly in from all angles accompanied by sound effects and lists of bullet points will drop into place to emphasise a point the speaker is making. While such programs were designed for this purpose, they can be used to quickly and easily create other sorts of resources, such as books and websites. Pupils will be familiar with these kinds of resources from their use of CD-ROMs and the Internet.
