ABSTRACT

A woodcutter who lives in the forest has not had much luck in his life. He lives alone in a house that needs everything repaired. He can't put things right on his own. One day, when he ventures deep into the forest to collect firewood, he loses his way. Dark and cold, he huddles under a tree. A spirit, the magic Mushkil Gusha, appears before him offering food and a fine fur to keep him warm. Mushkil Gusha explains that if he always gives food to someone who is hungry on a Friday his luck will change. The woodcutter is grateful and, the following Friday, although he has little himself, he shares his food with a beggar.
