ABSTRACT

In this chapter I look at the origin of learning support units (LSUs) in England and identify the view of the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) of what an LSU should be and do.

LSUs (learning support units) are an important element in the Government's drive for behaviour improvement in schools. There are now in excess of 1,100 around the country and the number is growing steadily
