ABSTRACT
In this chapter our aim is to establish a chronology – to put events in order and give them a date. We have two targets in our sights: objects on the one hand and contexts on the other; and we have two tasks for each: first, put them in a relative sequence; and second, provide them with a calendar date. “Chronology” is the combined operation (Fig 11.1).
