ABSTRACT

In some ways our attempt to describe a conceptual framework and theory about how sacred matters influence the quality of family life is like putting a puzzle together. Some of the pieces are simple to convey and easy to identify and put in the puzzle. Others are complex and subtle, and it is challenging to describe and integrate them. This chapter is about one of the more subtle ideas that appeared in our observations and interviews, and it is not as widely known or appreciated as many of the other ideas.
