ABSTRACT
Sir John Fortescue’s De Laudibus Legum Angliae was written between 1468 and 1471. Fortescue had an extensive experience of the workings of English law over some forty years, holding the Chief Justiceship from 1442 to 1461, and in this book he includes chapters which provide a first-hand account of the system of legal education of his day.
