The statutory requirements for teaching drama It is a requirement of the National Curriculum that primary children experience and participate in drama activities as part of their education at Key Stages 1 and 2. This is set out in the Order for English where it appears explicitly in various places. Figure 2.1 identifies 16 different reference points in the Programmes of Study.
