ABSTRACT

There are a number of issues concerning provision for pupils with SEN that relate to the way the school operates as a whole. These are issues that need to be addressed through the development of a whole-school SEN policy. This chapter provides guidelines for the development of such a policy and discusses some related issues including working with classroom assistants and other professionals, movement around school, special toileting facilities, relationships with other children, and the provision of opportunities for all children to participate in out of school activities.
