ABSTRACT
Communist parties rule over a quarter of the earth’s surface, over a third of the earth’s peoples. They claim to be acting in the name and in the spirit of Marxism, and to be leading the people over whom they rule towards a communist society, in which each will give freely of his abilities and receive freely in accordance with his needs, in which abundance exists and money does not, and the state has withered away. Needless to say, this is not any actually-existing society; reality has been very different.
