ABSTRACT
Some years ago a distinguished participant in our discussions wrote a book entitled The Soviet Economy at the Crossroads. The Soviet economy is at the crossroads still, and an increasing proportion of Soviet economists are publicly expressing their awareness of this fact. Of course, this is no criticism of Professor Boettcher. Crossroads in history take many years to traverse. This one will be with us for quite a time yet.
