ABSTRACT

In Chapter 2 the topic of management of change was introduced followed by Chapter 3 which described action research as a method of developing both the professional and the school. This chapter continues that theme by considering how the development and reviewing of policies can influence the change process. This may appear to be a rather ‘dry’ and unexciting way to consider inclusive practice, so first let us reflect on the purpose of policies in school development and in the management of change.
