ABSTRACT
But what shall be the nature of an itinerary designed to acquaint the young with the inhabitants of the art world? How extensive is the art world, and what are its major points of interest? What are the principal and secondary roads by which it is to be traversed? Some observations have, of course, already been made that partly answer these questions, and it may be useful to recall them here.
