ABSTRACT
Choosing a location for and properly siting a project depend on many factors that will affect the surrounding environment, appearance and the economic viability of a townhouse development. Natural topography, sun exposure and wind direction can also be taken advantage of to reduce energy consumption. This chapter reviews aspects related to community planning, exploring desired densities, lot typologies, dwellings’ location and orientation.
