ABSTRACT
Stage two, preliminary reconstructive analysis, is primarily oriented toward the normative-evaluative ontological category. The reconstruction of subjective states, especially as referenced by body postures and tones of voice, is also involved. In this chapter, I will discuss the procedures that researchers may follow to support the validity of normative-evaluative reconstructions. Procedures for supporting subjective reconstructions will be discussed in chapter eleven.
