ABSTRACT

The N.Y.K. European liner Suwa Maru, which arrived at Yokohama on the 25th inst., had on board a huge temple bell, which has been brought to its original home, the Shinagawa Temple at Shinagawa, after more than half a century's sojourn in a foreign land. An enthusiastic reception was given to the bell on its arrival at Yokohama pier by a crowd of people including Mr. Shogen Urushi, a former Member of the Imperial Diet, who as a boy of seven or eight saw the bell off at Yokohama, when it was leaving its home country.
