ABSTRACT

“Fortune comes in at a door where laughing people are within.” says a Japanese proverb. Humour, the promoter of merriment, is indeed the flower of life, and without it life on this planet of ours would be as dreary as spring without its blossoms. We Japanese must bless our stars that we are endowed with a keen sense of humour, which manifests itself in all phases of social intercourse and acts as oil in lubricating the wheels of society.
