ABSTRACT
The recognition of opportunities to create or innovate is the initiation point of the entrepreneurial process.1 Consequently, this chapter discusses the nature of entrepreneurial opportunity and particularly social venture opportunity. The chapter is divided into three major sections. The first section discusses the nature of entrepreneurial opportunity. The second explores the process through which entrepreneurial opportunities come into being. The third analyzes social entrepreneurial opportunities.
