ABSTRACT

In this book, I have attempted to describe what interest groups are, what they do, and what role they play in American politics. For better or worse, interest groups have been central features of the American political landscape since the founding of the republic. In the end, a full understanding of the American political system requires an understanding of interest group politics. I hope that this book has provided you with the raw material you need to begin making sense of the complex and ever-changing world of interest groups.
