ABSTRACT

In my mind, the frontier these three have developed continues to oer an alternative to modernistic approaches steeped in normalizing judgment, pathologizing, and singular descriptions of life and experience. In many ways, their work is the counterstory to more colonizing schools of therapeutic practice that outline strict guides with regard to how to “do the work.” I am not suggesting guidance is not important but rather a supporting part to the development of the craft. I’ve always thought facilitating therapeutic conversations is more art than science. I recognize my bias for this; however, within these chapters the structure that supports the art came clearer for me.
